Professor Jan Vijg officially came to work in our university and took the position of director of Center for Single-Cell Omics and Disease research of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.
Based on the needs of the country, the center will use the international cutting-edge single cell research methods, work around aging and disease, establish an international joint scientific research base, and eventually build the research center into an internationally renowned scientific research institution in the field of single cell omics and disease research.
Professor Jan Vijg is a famous expert in the field of single-cell, and a major representative of the genomic instability theory of aging. He has been engaged in genomic instability and aging research for a long time. He is a senior review expert of the national institutes of health (NIH), and has been steadily supported by NIH funding for 30 years. He has published more than 300 academic papers and 3 monographs in Nature, Science, Cell and other international journals, and is a contributing expert for Nature, Nature Review, Annual Review, Cell and other journals.
