The Department of Community Health and Behavioral Medicine was reorganized from the former Department of Community Health and General Practice and changed to its current name in March 2017. There are 12 faculty members in the department, including 3 professors/researchers, 3 associate professors, 4 lecturers, 1 experimenter and 1 assistant experimenter.
The department takes community population as the research subject. Through follow-up investigation and intervention research of community population, the research method of behavioral medicine combined with big data platform and artificial intelligence algorithm is used to form intelligent health management mode of community population to improve the health level of community population. By investigating the actual medical needs and patient experience of the community population, the doctor-patient relationship can be improved from multiple perspectives and in a multi-dimensional way, such as observation research and policy pilot, so as to meet the medical needs of the community population, improve their medical security, and enhance the medical well-being of the community population. Community health and behavioral medicine involves behavioral science, pedagogy, preventive medicine, clinical medicine, artificial intelligence and other interdisciplinary fields. Within the department, a distinctive discipline group has been established.
The department offers a large number of courses for undergraduates in clinical medicine, preventive medicine, nursing and laboratory medicine. Each year, an average of 700 hours of undergraduate courses, 150 hours of graduate courses and 72 hours of adult education courses were undertaken.
Based on the discipline construction of the department over the years, The study includes community chronic disease prevention and behavioral intervention, reproductive health epidemiology, health promotion and behavioral medicine, community chronic disease prevention and control and behavioral intervention research, adolescent health education and health promotion research, smart health management research, related issues related to the combination of medical care, sleep health research, research on the role of environment-behavior exposure on disease and behavioral interaction health effect and formed a echelon of reasonable structure, a variety of professional background cross high-level teaching and research team.
