There are 14 faculty members in the Department of Environmental Health. Among members of our department, five members are professors, five are associate professors/researchers and four are assistant professors/researchers. Our department has been teaching multiple courses (e.g. Hygiene Toxicology, Environmental Health, Occupational Health and Occupational Medicine, Environmental Health and Occupational Health, Modern Environmental Health) for preventive medicine students and clinical medicine students.
Our work focuses on three research areas: (1) Environment and Child Health, (2) Environmental Mutagen and Genome Research, (3) Environment and Cardiovascular Disease. Our department has obtained research funds of approximate 10 million Chinese Yuan from more than 20 projects in the recent five years, which are supported by General Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Key program of NSFC, Key program of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and Natural Science Foundation of Shanghai, respectively. Members of our department have published more than 100 scientific papers on extremely influential journals in the field of Environmental Health, such as Environmental Health Perspectives, Environment International, Environmental Science & Technology, Hypertension, Stroke, Mutagenesis, Mutation Research, Archive of Toxicology. Our faculty have been awarded “the Second Award of National Science and Technology Progress”, “the First Award of Science and Technology Progress of The Ministry of Education”, “the Second Award of Scientific and technological Progress of Shanghai Preventive Medicine Association”, “the Third Award of Scientific and technological Progress of Shanghai Preventive Medicine Association”, “the Outstanding Academic Leader of Shanghai Public Health”, “ the Outstanding Young Talents of Shanghai Public Health”, and “the Shanghai Pujiang Talent Plan”, etc.
