Recently, the winners of the 2024 Shanghai Jiao Tong University President's Award were announced. Professor Wang Hui, Dean of the School of Public Health, received the honor.
Leading the development of the discipline, Prof. Wang Hui has been engaged in the research of public health and preventive medicine for a long time, and has won many honorary titles. At the same time, she actively participated in social service, undertook a number of social posts, and was awarded the first prize of national outstanding contribution to overseas Chinese. She has led the discipline of public health to achieve leapforward development in terms of theory, publications, applications and policy innovation, with numberous breakthroughs and transformations, forming a characteristic discipline. As a teacher, Prof. Wang Hui always adheres to the mission and responsibility of teaching and educating people, and is deeply loved by students. She strives to practice educating people for the country, cultivating and inheriting a group of outstanding young talents, including many high-level talents at the national and provincial levels, and has obtained many honors and achievements such as the first prize of Shanghai Excellent Teaching Achievements. As a dream follower of Healthy China, Wang Hui actively responds to the strategy of Healthy China and Digital China, and pioneered the Shanghai digital public health and preventive medicine science popularization education service platform, integrating more than 100 cooperative institutions in the city, with a transmission volume of over 100 million. She has created a series of platforms, such as the National Digital Literacy and Training Base and the Shanghai Digital Nutrition Innovation Platform, to effectively promote science popularization and scientific and technological innovation. She leads the discipline of public health, takes on the mission to protect health and contributes the strength of public health personnel of Shanghai Jiao Tong University to a healthy China.
