Lab Info：Stem cell research will not only reveal unique insights into basic developmental and disease mechanisms, but also provide the foundation for future therapies. Elucidating the regulatory network of stem cell pluripotency and differentiation is a prerequisite for understanding their physiological functions and pathological mechanisms. Currently, by using human and mouse stem cells, organoids as well as animal models, her lab applies functional genomics, epigenetics and bioinformatics to understand the regulatory mechanism of stem cell differentiation under physiological and pathological conditions, which will help speed the clinical applications of stem cell therapy. Her primary research interests focus on: 1.) Study the early fate-determination mechanism of embryonic stem cell towards mesendoderm; 2.) Identify key development regulators of mesendoderm organs, such as pancreas and kidney, and study the clinical applications of adult stem cells or progenitors.
