Shanghai Key Laboratory of Orbital Diseases and Ocular Oncology was established in October 2017, with main research interests: Pathogenesis and clinical multicenter study on the features of orbital disease; Study on the pathogenesis and targeted therapy of ocular tumors; Ocular tissue regeneration and translational medicine. Under the leadership of Academician Fan Xianqun, director of the Key Laboratory, in the past five years, 44 national projects such as the National Key Research and Development Plan and the National Natural Science Foundation of China have been newly added, and 11 multi-center clinical studies funded by the National Health Industry Special Fund have been led. More than 310 SCI papers have been published as the first author and the first unit, led the formulation of 15 domestic guidelines and expert consensus, participated in the formulation of 1 international guideline, and realized the transformation of 5 achievements. As the first unit to complete 2 second prizes of National Science and Technology Progress Award and 3 first prizes of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, etc. It has been selected as the key course project of Shanghai Education Commission, Shanghai Excellent Course Construction Plan, Excellent teaching team of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and the first prize of PBL Case Competition of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, etc. Editor-in-chief of Ophthalmology, the textbook of the 13th Five-Year Plan in China, and other textbooks like Internet + Medical and Health. And trained 59 doctoral students and 16 master's students. Department of Ophthalmology, Ninth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, as the support organization of Shanghai Key Laboratory of Orbital Diseases and Ocular Oncology, is the national key clinical specialty, Shanghai key discipline, Shanghai "Top priority" clinical key discipline, is one of the three main units of the National Eye Disease Clinical Medical Research Center. Under the guidance of the discipline leader Academician Fan Xianqun, the overall level of the discipline is developing rapidly, young talents are growing healthily, scientific and technological innovation achievements are outstanding, and clinical specialty features are distinctive. The dominant specialty of ocular neoplasms and orbital diseases has become a famous international clinical center with the largest number of operations, the most difficult operation and the strongest ability to solve difficult and miscellaneous diseases in China. Besides ocular neoplasms and orbital diseases as the main advantage, ocular surface corneal diseases, vitreoretinopathy, cataract, glaucoma, ophthalmic optometry and oblique amblyopia have developed comprehensively. Through multidisciplinary integration, Shanghai Key Laboratory of Orbital Diseases and Ocular Oncology will carry out in-depth comprehensive research on pathogenesis, translational medicine and precision medicine. And will take it as own duty to continuously improve the research and diagnosis and treatment level of orbital diseases and eye tumors in Shanghai and even in the whole country, and strive to make more contributions to people's visual health and social and economic development.
