Yang Shengli, born in 1941, graduated from Department of Organic Chemistry, East China Institute of Chemical Technology in 1962. He was elected academician of China Academy of Engineering in 1997. He is currently the research fellow of Shanghai Research Center of Biotechnology, China Academy of Sciences.
Major positions: Member of advisory group and expert of State 973 Program (National Basic Research Program of China); Member of National Biological Industry Consultative Committee; Expert of overall planning group of national special key project "Innovative Drugs"; Accountability expert of national special key project “Prevention and Treatment of Infectious Diseases”. Chairman of Chinese Society of Biotechnology; Member of the Governing Board of China Academy of Engineering (CAE) and director of Academic Division of Medicine and Health, CAE; Director of Industrial Biotechnology Expert Committee, China Academy of Sciences; Director of Biotechnology Department Dalian Chemical Physics Institute, China Academy of Sciences.
Main research area: Application of systems biology and genetic engineering in medicine and industrial biotechnology.
