Biography
Dr. Xin Liu, the deputy director of the Department of Dental Materials, Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine; College of Stomatology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Her research interests cover areas of dental materials (e.g. composite resins, root canal filling materials, pulp capping materials, dental implants) and the utilization of various nanomaterials/hydrogels for tissue regeneration or tumor therapy.
She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine degree in Stomatology from Anhui Medical University in 2005 and she earned her Ph.D in Stomatology in 2011 from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. She went to the Department of Chemical & Materials Engineering, University of Alberta (Edmonton, Canada) as a visiting scholar for a year in 2016.
She has been the recipient of Shanghai Pujiang Talent (2018) and also presided 2 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Her academic positions include the member and academic secretary of Society of Dental Material Science-Chinese Stomatological Association, the vice chairman of Society of Dental Material Science, Shanghai Stomatological Association, the member of Chinese Society for Biomaterials Biomechanics Branch, the member of the Technical Committee for biological evaluation of nano-medical devices. She has published more than 20 papers in peer-reviewed journals such as Biomaterials, Applied materials today, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces etc., as the first author or the corresponding author.
