Dr. Fang has research interests including the growth and development of oral and maxillofacial malformations in adolescents and its influence on treatment. Regeneration and repair of adult dental and maxillofacial bone malformations with bone defects. Mechanical and biological mechanism of alveolar bone remodeling during tooth movement. Mechanical regulation mechanism of temporomandibular joint disease, mechanical regulation mechanism of bone and cartilage regeneration, and research and development of new bioactive materials related to craniomaxillofacial bone and cartilage regeneration.
Dr. Fang is Editor in chief of 5 monographs, responsible for 5 items of Natural Science Foundation (key one), the first prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award "innovative technology and practice of temporomandibular joint surgery" (ranking fifth, 2019), the second prize of science and technology progress award of the Ministry of Education (ranking fifth, 2019), and the first and corresponding author published more than 90 articles (35 SCI).
