Biography
Dr. Chi Yang, PhD, MD, DDS, is the vice dean of Shanghai Jiao Tong University College of Stomatology, academic leader of Department of Oral Surgery in Shanghai 9th People’s Hospital. He was trained in Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and gained DDS and MD degree in Shanghai 9th People’s Hospital in 1994,，followed the guidance of academician Qiu Weiliu. He then became faculty in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He visited several American university hospitals as UCLA, Mass General Hospital and Maryland University as faculty from 2000 to 2001.
Prof. Yang’ clinical specialty is open surgery and arthroscopic surgery to treat all kinds of temporomandibular joint diseases, complicated joint-skull reconstructions and combined treatment of joint-jaw-occlusion to deal with TMJ disease with jaw deformity and malocclusion. Professor Yang is also the designate Chairman of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery Committee of Chinese Stomatological Association; and is the international member of the American TMJ Surgeons Society. He is the managing Editor of China Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Shanghai Journal of Stomatology and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Chinese Oral Medical Research Journal and Chinese Journal of Dental Materials and Devices.
Prof. Yang has been invited to the European and International Conferences as speaker for 24 times including 36 topics in the recent years. He has also been invited for international surgical live demonstration 22 times in 10 countries. 70 international scholars of 24 countries came to Shanghai specially to observe his operation. Professor Yang has accomplished more than 20 scientific research grants, published more than 300 papers including 136 SCI papers. He has edited 1 book and participated in editing 24 books. He has won the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress; the National Invention Award; the Progress Award of Health Science and Technology Ministry; Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Progress Award; Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award. He is the outstanding teacher in Shanghai. He has presided over a national excellent course 《Oral Surgery》.
