Biography
Dr. Jia Wei Zheng, MD, Ph.D, vice CPC dean of College of Stomatology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery. He is currently Editor-in-Chief of Frontiers of Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine (FOMM, in English), China Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (in Chinese), Executive Editor-in-Chief of Shanghai Journal of Stomatology (in Chinese), Editorial Board Member of Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (USA), Chinese Medical Journal (CMJ, in English ), Head and Neck Oncology (United Kingdom).His major research interests are focusing on pathogenesis and novel intervention of infantile hemangiomas and vascular anomalies.
He had authored and co-authored 338 peer reviewed papers, 91 were cited by SCI. He had published 4 monographs as editor-in-chief including one in English. He is principal investigator (PI) of 7 grants from National Natural Science Foundation of China (NNSFC). He had won 2 National Science and Technology Advancement Awards in 2007 and 2010, respectively.
His team successfully developed a special gel for hemangioma for the first time in the world, and has completed a series of work from basic research to clinical translation, which has produced great economic and social benefits. He has completed cultivation of more than 10 master and doctoral students and 2 postdoctoral fellows.
