Biography
Lijuan Xie, PhD, Master's degree supervisor,，is a chief neonatologist of Xinhua Hospital, affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine. She graduated from the Department of Pediatrics of Shanghai Second Medical University in 1991 and obtained her master’s and PhD degrees in 1997 and 2005 respectively. She is currently a member of the Chinese Medical Association's Perinatology Section, deputy head of the Nutrition and Metabolism Group of the Chinese Medical Association's Perinatology Section, deputy director of the Shanghai Medical Association's Perinatology Section, member of the Chinese Society of Preventive Medicine's Early Life Development and Disease Prevention and Control Section, and a member of the Chinese Medical Association's Medical Appraisal Expert Committee. In 2012, she was a visiting scholar at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Cincinnati Children's Hospital, one of the top three hospitals in the United States. In 2020, she completed the Shanghai Hospital Development Centre's clinical science and technology innovation project "A multi-centre study on the application of umbilical cord milking to prevent and reduce anemia in preterm infants". In recent years, she has also participated in several scientific research projects including the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, the Education Commission, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Dozens of papers have been published by Chinese and English. She has participated in the writing of books such as Clinical Pediatrics and Neonatal Medicine. She has been teaching postgraduate students since 2014 and has graduated 3 of them. She also regularly participates in seminars and grand rounds at schools and hospitals in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai.
