Research Interests
Professor Yufang Bi is the Professor and Chief Physician of Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases, the Vice President of Ruijin Hospital, and the Deputy Director of the Shanghai Institute of Endocrine and Metabolic Diseases. She is also the Fellow of the Chinese Society of Endocrinology and the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association. Dr. Bi is a physician-scientist specializing in endocrine and metabolic diseases and has committed herself to the research of treatment and prevention of type 2 diabetes and cardiometabolic complications. She has led several famous nationwide cohort studies including the China Noncommunicable Disease Surveillance Study and the Chinese Cardiometabolic and Cancer Cohort (4C) Study. She is also the Principal Investigator of an ongoing nationwide multicenter, open-label, parallel-group, randomized controlled trial: Blood PRessure cOntrol tArget in Diabetes (BPROAD). She has received national talent titles including the ‘Excellent Youth Scholar’ from the National Natural Science Foundation and the “Yangtze River” Scholar award from the Ministry of Education. She has authored over 150 peer-reviewed scientific research articles including JAMA, Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology, Cell Research, Diabetes Care, and Diabetologia.
