Research Interests
Dr. Zhang received his B.S. from Changchun University of Chinese Medicine and M.D. from the Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences of Chinese Academy of Science. Dr. Zhang’s lab has been long dedicated to the research on the mechanism of obesity and the treatment by Chinese herbal medicine, which has made significant achievements. Dr. Zhang has found that multiple genes are involved in nutrition metabolism and the therapeutic effects of monomeric compounds on metabolic diseases such as obesity. In recent years, he has published more than 10 articles in influential international journals as the first author or corresponding author so far.
