Research Interests
Professor Hong Jie has long been engaged in basic and clinical research of obesity and metabolic syndrome. By building Genetics of Obesity in Chinese Youngs (GOCY) cohort, she has targeted various genes contributing to the development and progression of obesity. In recent years, Professor Hong Jie has been committed to investigating the crosstalk between gut microbiome and host depending on GOCY cohort and bariatric surgery treated cohort with follow-ups, aiming to clarify the role of gut microbiota in the development of metabolic diseases and uncover new targets of obesity treatment. As to research achievements, Professor Hong Jie has achieved a number of scientific project grants supported by National Key Research and Development Plan, National Science-technology Support Plan and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and published more than 40 original articles in influential journals including Nature Medicine, Diabetes Care and all that, as the first author/corresponding author.
