Research Interests
Dr. Qiuhua Huang is a Principle Investigator of Shanghai Institute of Hematology, Ruijin Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. Her research focuses on the regulation of normal and malignant hematopoiesis, in particular for the functional study of the specific H3K36 tri-methyltransferase, SETD2. In her work, she revealed the indispensability of Setd2 for murine embryonic development and endodermal differentiation (2010, PNAS; 2014, Cell reports) and found that deficiency of Setd2 can impair the self-renewal capacity of hematopoietic stem cells, leading to an MDS-like phenotype in mice (2018, Cell Research). Her work also suggested that SETD2 mutations/deletions play an important regulatory role in tumor initiation, progression, and chemoresistance processes (2021, Cancer Communications).
