Research Interests
Professor Pan serves as Director of Department of Dermatology at Rui Jin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and President of Society for Dermatology of Shanghai Medical Association.
Professor Pan focuses on clinical and basic research in pemphigus and pemphigoid, a group of severe and life-threatening autoimmune bullous dermatoses. With the support of successive fundings from National Natural Science Foundation of China, her group explored the local immune response of the disease, which expanded the current understanding of the pathogenesis of pemphigus and provided therapeutic target for treatment in pemphigus. To date, she has published over 60 articles on leading dermatological publications such as the Lancet, Journal of the Investigative Dermatology, and British Journal of Dermatology, with the total impact factor exceeding 200. She has also received the recognition for her research from the Municipality of Shanghai and the Dermatology Fellowship Award from Milstein Medical Asian American Partnership Foundation.
