Research Interests
The stroma of gastric cancer (GC) consists of a complex ecosystem composed of immune cells, endothelial cells, and cancer associated fibroblasts (CAFs). CAFs are the major constituent of the tumor stroma, although their origin and roles in GC initiation, progression and treatment response remain unclear due to significant heterogeneity. We focus on understanding the heterogeneity and the role of CAFs in GC progression, and translate these findings to human GC through characterizing these subpopulations and developing novel targeted therapeutics using a multidisciplinary approach.
