Research Interests
Xiao-Jian Sun conducted his Ph.D. studies with Dr. Zhu Chen at Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and gained postdoctoral training with Dr. Robert G. Roeder at Rockefeller University. Xiao-Jian Sun currently serves as a Principal Investigator at the Shanghai Institute of Hematology, Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. His research interest is the transcriptional and epigenetic regulation of hematopoietic stem cell and leukemia, and his scientific contributions include: (i) identification of the leukemogenic transcription factor complex AETFC; (ii) identification of the human histone H3K36 methyltransferase SETD2; and (iii) clarification of the role of basic epigenetic mechanisms in developmental stress and evolution.
