Research Interests
Sun Yunwei is proficient in diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases by endoscopic ultrasound. He is involved in clinical and basic research on gastrointestinal inflammation and tumor. He directs a research team to elucidate the mechanism of flora in the development of inflammatory colon cancer and to translate the findings to the clinic. He uses that information to develop new Early diagnosis. As a chief physician, he also focuses on endoscopic dissection of early gastrointestinal tumor. In his clinical work, he has carried out a large number of interventional endoscopic treatments such as endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic mucosal and submucosal tumor dissection (ESD), endoscopic tunneling technique (STER), and esophageal and cardia dysplasia (POEM).
