Research Interests
Dr. Weiming Wang is Vice-Professor and Chief Physician of Department of Nephrology, Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, School of Medicine. His major research areas include mechanisms and treatment strategies of inflammation, immunity, metabolism, cell cycle and senescence in glomerular diseases and renal fibrosis, especially the pathogenesis, epidemiological and treatment study of diabetic nephropathy, and the optimal treatment of IgA nephropathy and membranous nephropathy. His major clinical interest includes primary and secondary glomerular disease. He has been funded by multiple National Key Research and Development Program and National Natural Science Foundation of China, and has published more than 90 papers in the peer-reviewed scientific journals.
