Research Interests
Psoriasis is an inflammatory disease. Most patients relapse or exacerbate in autumn and winter or after exposure to cold temperature, showing that "cold" is a clear cause of relapse or exacerbation, but the mechanism remains unclear. We now focus on the following scientific questions: 1. To clarify the specific mechanism of how cold stress activates skin macrophages and up-regulates the expression of IL-1β; 2. To clarify if cutaneous macrophage derived IL-1β at low temperature is responsible for aggravating or inducing psoriasis; 3. To study the clinical correlation between cold exposure and psoriasis induction or exacerbation in patients.
