Research Interests
Zhigang Li, M.D., Ph.D., is the deputy chief of Division of Thoracic Surgery and the director of Esophageal Surgery Section at Shanghai Chest Hospital. He was honored as "The Evarts A. Graham Memorial Traveling Fellowship" and active member of AATS.
As the founder of the world's largest robotic minimally invasive surgery center for esophageal cancer, Li Zhigang's research direction covers clinical study and basic translational research. Clinical research mainly focuses on retrospective mining of esophageal cancer data and prospective cohort research, including neoadjuvant therapy and efficacy evaluatio. The scope of basic research covers the exploration of effective biomarkers for esophageal cancer immunotherapy and the mechanism of efficacy, adenovirus-mediated gene targeted therapy, and the mechanism of lymph node metastasis of esophageal cancer.
