Research Interests
Our research focused on cardiology, especially in atherosclerosis and aortic aneurysm. We would like to explore the novel target in regulating the progression of atherosclerosis and aortic aneurysm. To achieve the goal we need to understand the mechanism involved in the onset and progress of the diseases. In our research, we explore the role of nuclear receptor Nur77 and other factors in regulating inflammatory response, lipid loading and cellular apoptosis in activated macrophages and in animal model, and its detailed mechanism. We are interested in understanding the signal transduction pathways involved in inflammation and immunology in cardiovascular disease. Better understanding of these protective mechanisms will lead to the development of better therapies for patients with atherosclerotic diseases or other ischemic heart disease.
