Research Interests
Congenital heart disease (CHD) is the most common birth defect in China and a major cause of serious morbidity and mortality. Until recently, the cause of the majority of CHD was unknown. Dr. Fu is dedicated to the research of genetics and genomics of CHD. By evaluating a large cohort of CHD patients with comprehensive sequencing, the team will identify more evidence for genetic causes underlying CHD. Further mutation analysis, animal model and in vitro cardiogenesis will be used to address the biological pathways involved in cardiac development and to translate these findings into precision medicine for the disgnosis and care of CHD patients.
