Research Interests
Dr. SHENG’s clinical expertise in pediatric surgery centers on abdominal surgery, oncology, neonatal general surgery, and minimal invasive surgery, with a particular focus on choledochal cyst, biliary atresia, Hirschsprung disease (congenital megacolon), anorectal malformations, esophageal atresia/tracheoesophageal fistula, neuroblastoma, malignant and nonmalignant tumors of the liver, rhabdomyosarcoma and other soft tissue tumors, teratoma and other germ cell tumors. SHENG also has got research grants from National Natural Science Foundation of China (81601322) and Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai (15ZR1434200), investigating the pathogenesis of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) development and exploring new preventive approaches.
