Research Interests

  • Prof. Dr. Wang has been focusing on the key scientific problems and common technical challenges of the imaging-guided non-invasive diagnosis and treatment field, led the medical-engineering integration research team to carry out theoretical research, technical innovation and clinical application on the phase-controlled magnetic resonance focused ultrasound (MRIpHIFU) technology, and achieved a series of academic innovation achievements as follows: 1. Solved the three key problems of rapid non-invasive and accurate temperature measurement of magnetic resonance, precise control of focal length after ultrasonic beam penetrating bone, and electromagnetic compatibility between magnetic resonance and focused ultrasound, developed the MRIpHIFU non-invasive treatment system with independent intellectual property rights, and led the multi-center clinical trial in China; 2. The AI deep learning method was established to predict the medium and long term efficacy of MRIpHIFU in tumor treatment through preoperative imaging data, improving the clinical application efficiency of the technology; 3. Developed multi-functional nanoprobes with high specificity, good sensitivity and excellent safety, which solved the "heat sink effect" in the focused ultrasound treatment of tumor areas with rich blood supply, and realized the synergistic effect of MRIpHIFU in the treatment of tumor. Through these works, a new technique of imaging-guided non-invasive diagnosis and treatment based on MRIpHIFU was constructed.

  • Related results were published in the international famous academic journals, such as European Radiology, Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Journal of Biomedical Engineering IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control, Physics in Medicine & Biology and biomaterials, Advanced Functional Materials, ACS Nano, etc. 3 national invention patents and 2 utility model patents are authorized. Also, he won the first prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award in 2017, and the second prize of Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Award in 2016. In 2019, he won the Gold Medal -- Outstanding Youth Award of Chinese Radiology Society. He was awarded by the Radiological Society of North America Award for 4 times in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2021.
