Research Interests
As a basic and translational researcher, Professor Zhang focuses on the pathological mechanisms that lead to sight-threatening retinopathy diseases, particularly the crosstalk between liver/adipose tissue and retina in diabetic retinopathy. She has published more than 30 peer-reviewed scientific articles in high-impact scientific journals, such as Cell Metabolism, Hepatology and Cell Research. Her research work has been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Shanghai Natural Science Foundation, the Shanghai Pujiang Program, and the Shanghai Jiaotong University-Gaofeng Clinical Medicine Grant. And she obtained the Second Prize of Shanghai Natural Science awards (ranking 2nd).
