Research Interests
The ~2m human DNA in each human cell must be compacted at a high level in order to fit into the confined nuclear space. At the same time, the genome needs to be folded into highly ordered structures to ensure the precise regulation of various genome functions including transcription, replication and DNA repair. Using a combination of cell biology, genetics and advanced genomics approaches, the research in my laboratory aims to elucidate the molecular mechanisms that establish and regulate 3D genome architecture, and explore their physiological significances during development, aging and various diseases.
