Hearing loss can be caused by genetic mutations, environmental factors (noise and ototoxic drugs). My research is focused on diverse treatment strategies for different deafness, including:
Gene therapy to treat genetic hearing loss by CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing.
Mitochondria therapeutics to protect from noise-induced hearing loss.
Gene regulation based hair cell and spiral ganglion regeneration.
Translational research of inner therapy in non-human primate.
