Research Interests
My laboratory group is interested in the basic and clinical research on thyroid diseases or genetic endocrine disorders.
The basic and clinical research on thyroid diseases: 1) We firstly performed the complete GWAS study of Graves’ disease, and identified 9 new disease susceptibility genes, accounting for 40% of the currently recognized Graves’ disease susceptibility genes; 2) We proposed and verified the hypothesis of autoimmune thyroid disease molecular subtypes, suggesting the clinical characteristics and outcomes of different molecular subtypes different. 3) We clarified the molecular mechanism difference between Graves’ disease and Hashimoto thyroiditis in the production of autoimmune antibodies. 4) We identified the new causal genes and the pathogenic mechanisms of congenital hypothyroidism.
