Research Interests
Dr. Bao’ s research focused on the pathogenesis of obesity and diabetes, especially the role of new cytokines in the incidence and development of obesity, diabetes and macrovascular disease, and the mechanism of bariatric surgery in the treatment of obesity and diabetes. She has led several epidemiological studies based on the community population to investigate the risk factors and biomarkers of visceral obesity, metabolic syndrome, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and vascular diseases. She also has expertise in the mechanisms and pathways of metabolic disorders. She has been awarded the National Science and Technology Award, the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, the Shanghai Science and Technology Award and etc. previously. She has multiple publications in top journals of Q1 by JCR ranking.
