Research Interests
Our research laboratory focuses on therapies and molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular diseases and cancers. This work has important implications both for normal biology and for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases and cancers including atherosclerosis, heart failure, aortic dissection, and breast cancer. We integrate genome-wide transcription factor binding, chromatin dynamics, gene expression profiles, and chemical and functional screens to model the specificity and function of transcription factors, chromatin regulators, RNA binding proteins and kinases in development, progression, drug response and resistance of cardiovascular diseases and cancers. We also develop CRISPR screen and multiomics platforms to understand the functions of genes and proteins, and identify targets in cardiovascular diseases and cancers that leads to optimized disease precision medicine.
