Research Interests
Dr. Yin is a physician-scientist with an active research program and clinical practice in endocrinology and metabolism. His major research interests are metabolic diseases including obesity and diabetes, as well as the mechanisms underlying the effects of berberine, metformin, low-carbohydrate ketogenic diet, and the role of mitochondrion as a pivotal organelle of metabolic regulator. He also has interests in the role of the gastrointestinal tract as a metabolic regulator. Clinically, Dr. Yin is particularly interested in treating patients with various diseases using low-carbohydrate ketogenic diet.
