Research Interests
Dr. Xiaojiao ZHENG is the Professor at the Center for Translational Medicine, Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. She received her Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2013. She is currently a member of Gut Microbiome Subgroup of Biophysical Society of China. In 2021, she was awarded the Excellent Young Scholar of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). She has published peer-reviewed papers as the first or corresponding author in high impact scientific journals including Cell Metabolism, Nature Communications, Science Translational Medicine and others.
Zheng’s long-term research goal is to study the pathogenesis and translational medicine of metabolic diseases based on a series of metabolomics, microbiome, and molecular biology approaches. Her current research involves: (1) The identification of the metabolite markers for disease diagnosis and stratification. (2) The investigation of the molecular mechanisms that link metabolic disruptions in gut microbial-host co-metabolism.
