Research Interests
Prof. Dr. Hou received his PhD cum laude from Tongji University. He is trained as a cardiologist with a focus on myocardial ischemia. He did a postdoctoral fellowship at Zhongshan Hospital from Fudan University with Prof. Ge Junbo. The research group of Prof. Hou working on translational research topics to bridge the gap between bench and bedside focuses on understanding the effect and mechanism of immune response in ischemic heart disease and exploring tissue engineered blood vessel construction and Multicenter clinical studies of cardiovascular drugs and devices. He presided over 3 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation. The findings have been published in Nature Communications, Basic Research in Cardiology, and Hypertension as the first or corresponding author. Prof. Hou is director of Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases and deputy director of the Department of Cardiology at Tongren Hospital of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.
