Research Interests
Chronic kidney disease is one of the leading causes of mortality and morbidity worldwide. The exact mechanisms of progression of glomerular damage have not yet been clearly elucidated. Podocytes play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the glomerular filtration barrier and podocyte injury is the unifying mechanism of glomerulopathies and glomerulosclerosis, including focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), IgA nephrology and diabetic nephropathy (DN). My research interest focus on the molecular mechanisms of renal fibrosis and podocyte injury. The research goal of our team is to find the causes and identify new and effective targets to slow the progression or prevent the development of chronic kidney disease.
