Research Interests

• Dr. Cheng is investigating the molecular mechanism of neurodegenerative diseases, e.g. Alzheimer’s Disease, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, etc. She is particularly interesting in exploring the regulatory mechanism of aggregated proteins and the ways to eliminate these toxic aggregates. At the same time, she is also engaged in screening and developing nuclear receptor ligands which can specifically bind to the aggregated proteins, to extend application of nuclear imaging in neurodegenerative disease.
