Research Interests

• We are interested in exploring the cellular and circuit basis of motor control, particularly in the context of movement disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease(PD) and Levodopa induced dyskinesia(LID). We use a combination of optogenetics, behavior, and electrophysiology methods to investigate the dysfunction of the basal ganglia and connected structures, which govern motor and cognitive control. In addition to the translational research, we are also engaged in the clinical research to find plasma biomarkers and to test the efficacy of non-invasive therapy for PD.
