病理生理學(xué)系是在上海第二醫(yī)科大學(xué)基礎(chǔ)醫(yī)學(xué)院病理生理學(xué)教研室的基礎(chǔ)上發(fā)展而來(lái)。該教研室于1956年在章德馨副教授領(lǐng)導(dǎo)下建立。1977-1989年間，上海第二醫(yī)科大學(xué)校長(zhǎng)王振義教授（1992年任法國(guó)科學(xué)院外籍院士，1994年任中國(guó)工程院院士，獲得2010年度國(guó)家最高科學(xué)技術(shù)獎(jiǎng)）擔(dān)任教研室主任，相關(guān)工作先后獲得了上海市科學(xué)技術(shù)進(jìn)步二等獎(jiǎng)、中醫(yī)藥科技進(jìn)步三等獎(jiǎng)、上海市衛(wèi)生系統(tǒng)“銀蛇獎(jiǎng)”等一批科技獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)，該學(xué)科也于1984年成為首批上海市地方高校重點(diǎn)學(xué)科。進(jìn)入上世紀(jì)90年代后，徐也魯教授和張啟良教授先后擔(dān)任教研室主任。2000年該學(xué)科成為博士點(diǎn)學(xué)科。2002年，國(guó)家杰出青年基金獲得者、上海市十大杰出青年陳國(guó)強(qiáng)教授（2015年任中國(guó)科學(xué)院院士）擔(dān)任學(xué)科帶頭人，開(kāi)始新一輪的以內(nèi)涵建設(shè)和創(chuàng)新人才培養(yǎng)為核心的學(xué)科建設(shè)。致力于白血病細(xì)胞分化和凋亡化學(xué)生物學(xué)研究，成為211工程重點(diǎn)建設(shè)學(xué)科和國(guó)家重點(diǎn)學(xué)科，并獲得“全國(guó)工人先鋒號(hào)”、“上海市教育系統(tǒng)文明組室”、“上海市文明班組”、“上海市勞模集體”等稱號(hào)。2018年鐘清研究員在病理生理學(xué)教研室的基礎(chǔ)上正式成立病理生理學(xué)系并擔(dān)任系主任。
系主任全面負(fù)責(zé)實(shí)驗(yàn)室的總體運(yùn)行，實(shí)行民主管理、研究組長(zhǎng)負(fù)責(zé)制，制定學(xué)科發(fā)展計(jì)劃，對(duì)各研究組在人才培養(yǎng)、科研投入、科研產(chǎn)出等方面實(shí)現(xiàn)目標(biāo)責(zé)任制。目前，本系在職人員55名，70%以上擁有博士學(xué)位和海外工作經(jīng)歷，正高職稱19名（含三位沒(méi)有正式職稱的PI），副高職稱10名。中國(guó)科學(xué)院院士1人，國(guó)家高層次人才計(jì)劃3人，國(guó)家高層次人才計(jì)劃青年項(xiàng)目5人，上海市高層次人才2人，國(guó)家杰出青年科學(xué)基金獲得者3人，國(guó)家自然科學(xué)基金委優(yōu)秀青年基金獲得者3人。
病理生理學(xué)系圍繞腫瘤細(xì)胞命運(yùn)決定的醫(yī)學(xué)生物學(xué)研究及靶向治療等方向，開(kāi)展多學(xué)科交叉，系統(tǒng)開(kāi)展發(fā)病學(xué)及治療學(xué)的基礎(chǔ)和轉(zhuǎn)化醫(yī)學(xué)研究。先后承擔(dān)包括國(guó)家科技部十二五支撐計(jì)劃、“973”計(jì)劃和“863”計(jì)劃、國(guó)家自然科學(xué)基金重大集成、重點(diǎn)、面上項(xiàng)目和上海市科研項(xiàng)目等200余項(xiàng)，取得系列重要發(fā)現(xiàn)，在國(guó)際權(quán)威學(xué)術(shù)刊物Nature、Cell Metabolism、Cancer Cell、Nature Chemical Biology、Nature Cell Biology、PNAS、Blood等發(fā)表SCI論文300余篇，并獲得國(guó)家自然科學(xué)二等獎(jiǎng)、中華醫(yī)學(xué)科技一等獎(jiǎng)、上海市科技進(jìn)步一等獎(jiǎng)、上海市自然科學(xué)一等獎(jiǎng)等獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)。授權(quán)六項(xiàng)發(fā)明專利。期間，病理生理學(xué)系共培養(yǎng)了120余位碩、博士研究生，并有多名學(xué)生獲國(guó)家及地方優(yōu)秀研究生獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)。

【Development History】
The Department of Pathophysiology was established by Associate Professor Zhang Dexin in Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine (formerly Shanghai Second Medical University) in 1956. Between 1977 and 1989, Professor Wang Zhenyi, President of the University (foreign academician of the French Academy of Sciences in 1992 and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1994，winner of the State Preeminent Science and Technology Award in 2010) served as the chair of the department, dedicated to the study of atherosclerosis and hemostasis and thrombosis, and achieved a series of extraordinary results, which has won the second prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, the third prize of Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Progress Award, the Shanghai Health System “Silver Snake Award” and etc. The discipline was also among the first to be the core subject of Shanghai city universities in 1984.
Ever since the 1990s, Professor Xu Yelu and Professor Zhang Qiliang served successively as chairs of the department, which became a doctoral discipline in 2000. In 2002, Prof. Chen Guoqiang, the winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and one of Shanghai's Top Ten Outstanding Young People, took the lead and initiated the discipline construction focusing on connotation construction and innovative talent cultivation. Adhering to the scientific innovation spirit of “courageous to think, speak and operate with perseverance and dedication”, the research direction was focused on leukemia cell differentiation and apoptosis, chemical biology, proteomics, leukemia etiology. The department under his leadership has won many honors. The pathology discipline became the key discipline of 211 projects and one of the national key disciplines. The research team won the "National Working Leading Organization", "Shanghai Education System Distinguished Group", "Shanghai Outstanding Team", "Shanghai Model Team" and other titles. In 2018, Dr. Zhong Qing served as the chair of the Department of Pathophysiology.
【Team of Expertise】
The chair of the department is dedicated to the overall operation of the laboratory, implementing democratic management, research team leader responsibility system, formulating the discipline development plan, and setting the work objectives and incentive mechanism in terms of personnel training, scientific research input & output. Meanwhile, outstanding young scholars are encouraged to cooperate with internationally renowned scholars to carry out high-level cooperative research, and on the other side, the department is open to cooperation. Currently, the department is composed of 55 in-service staff, more than 70% of whom have doctoral degrees and overseas work experience, 19 of full investigators and 10 associate investigators, 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 3 National High-level Talent Plan, 5 National High-level Youth Talent Plan, 3 National Distinguished Young Scholars winners, 3 Outstanding Youth Fund winners of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 2 High-Level Talent Programs of Shanghai.
【Research Overview】
The Department of Pathophysiology is involved in biomedical research areas that span a broad range of tumor cell fate determination, including mechanisms of initiation and development of solid tumors and hematopoietic tumors, hematopoietic and leukemia stem cells, tumor molecular markers research and targeted therapy, disease proteomics, structural biology and bioinformatics, and basic research on cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, etc. The department carries out basic and translational medical research in pathogenesis and therapeutics with the multidisciplinary and cross-disciplinary principle. The department has undertaken more than 200 projects including the 12th Five-Year Support Plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the "973" Plan and the "863" Plan, the National Natural Science Foundation's Major Integration, Key Project, General Projects and Shanghai Research Projects. Nearly 300 SCI papers were published on the internationally high-profile academic journals such as Nature, Cell metabolism, Cancer Cell, Nature Chemical Biology, Nature Cell Biology, Nature Communication, PNAS, Blood, etc. In addition, the department has won the second prize of the National Natural Science Award, the first prize of China Medical Science and Technology, the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, Shanghai Natural Science First Prize and other awards. Six patents have been authorized. The Department of Pathophysiology has trained more than 120 masters and doctoral students, one of whom won 100 National Excellent Doctoral Thesis, 7 the Shanghai Graduate Outstanding Achievement Award, and 1 the Wurui Scholarship.
