On June 30, 2016, A delegation comprised of eight people, led by Dean Lv Shemin and Party Secretary Pu Wei of Basic Medical College of Xi 'an Jiaotong University led visited Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Basic Medicine and made a special visit to Shanghai Institute of Immunology. On behalf of Director Su Bing, Principal Investigator (or Professor)Dr. Wang Honglin hosted the delegation.
Dr. Wangfirst briefly introduced the history and recent years’ achievements of our institute., Then the delegation visited institute’s laboratory and public instrument cores. The members said that they were very impressed by the international experimental environment and equipment platform, the innovation and leading establishment concept and the scientific research layout focusing on forefront. They also expected to strengthen academic exchanges between Basic Medical College of Xi 'an Jiaotong University and Shanghai Institute of Immunology.
Xi 'an Jiaotong University School of Medicine, previouslynamed asXi 'an Medical University, was originated from National Beiping University School of Medicine (founded in 1937). Xi 'an Medical University, Xi 'an Jiaotong University and Shanxi University of Finance and Economics School merged in April 2000 into Xi 'an Jiaotong University School of Medicine. In June 2012, Xi 'an Jiaotong University School of Medicine was rebuilt according to medical education reformation documents issued by Ministry of Education. At present, the Basic Medical School consists of 7 departments including department of human anatomy and tissue embryos, physiology and pathology physiology department, department of pathogen biology and immunity, department of pathology, cell biology and genetics department, department of biochemistry and molecular biology and department of pharmacology and 6 institutes including institute of neurobiology, institute of cardiovascular, cancer research institute, pain biology research center, institute of medical engineering and undergraduate biology and basic medical experiment teaching center.
