On April 6, 2016, Israel Hebrew University Vice President, Professor Isaiah (Shy) Arkin, Professor of Israel Hebrew University of Hadassah School of Medicine, Rami Aqeilan were invited to visit Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of medicine, and made a special trip to visit Shanghai Institute of Immunology. Director Su Bing warmly received the visiting guests, PI representatives Kang Zizhen, Wang Honglin, Yan Jianshe, Li Fubin, Huang Gonghua, Huang Chuanxin, Zou Qiang, Yeap Lengsiew, Wang Ying and Nie Hong also participated in the exchanges.
At the beginning of conference, Director Su Bing firstly briefly introduced development history of Shanghai Institute of Immunology, and the development results in talent team construction, scientific research, foreign exchanges, and infrastructure construction in recent years. After a brief exchange with PI representative, Professor Isaiah Arkin and Rami Aqeilan accompanied by Director Su Bing, visited laboratory and public instrument platforms, and commended Institute of Immunology on layout of frontier scientific research, competitive young scientific research personnel as well as laboratory in line with international norms, the public platform and the infrastructure. In the afternoon, Professor Rami Aqeilan described the project's progress and Israel Hebrew University teachers to mentor representatives who participated “Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine-Israel Hebrew University Double Ph.D. Training Program", discussed the training mode of the project issues with the participated mentors and reached a preliminary agreement.
Israel Hebrew University, founded in 1918, Israel's first University, has now developed into a vigorous integrated University setting the teaching and research. December 9-10th, 2014, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Shanghai Institute of Immunology/Hadassah School of Medicine of the Hebrew University's first bilateral academic seminar was held successfully in Shanghai, opened up close cooperation between the two sides in academic research and in personnel training. On May 18, 2015, the President of the Hebrew University Prof. Asher Cohen leading a delegation came to visit. On July 10-15th, 2015, the second bilateral Conference was held in Israel, President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine Chen Guoqiang, Dean of School of Basic Medicine, Xu Tianle, and Director of Shanghai Institute of Immunology, Su Bing visited Israel the Hebrew University and reached double Ph.D. training program intention on both sides. Believe that, double Ph.D. training program with the Hebrew University and comprehensively sustained cooperation in depth will strengthen academic and personnel exchanges between Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and Israel Hebrew University, and expand the international influence of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of medicine and Shanghai Institute of Immunology.
