The SII administration office hosted the 4th Theme Club on Dec 25, 2015. The “Theme Club” is a social event for students and faculties to have an informal interaction to discuss a particular topic of interest. The theme of the 4th Theme Club was “To all the memories that SII brought us”. The event was participated by 40 members of the institute.
In this Theme Club, we were reminded of the pioneering work of SII’s founding director, Professor He Yu. We also talked about the first Chinese to win a Nobel Prize, Youyou Tu and how her work had made an impact to the world. Amongst other topics discussed was how students have benefitted from programs organized by SII such as SII graduate summer school, student research in progress (RIP), institute retreat, Forum on Advancements in Immunology Research and etc. Many students and faculties participated actively in this Theme Club. In addition, many students expressed their hope for the success of their research next year. Finally the Theme Club ended with a gift exchange activity to celebrate the festive season.
