The program is intended to allow students to perform coordinated doctoral studies at both Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine (SJTU-SM) and Hebrew University of Jerusalem Faculty of Medicine (HUJI-MED) by studying and doing research at both institutions, jointly guided by scientific supervisors from both institutions. The program’s aim is to promote synergistic collaborations between SJTU-SM and HUJI-MED through the combined supervision of joint students for a joint Ph.D degree (JPD). The scope of the JPD program will include but not be limited to biomedical science to decipher the fundamental molecular basis for key cellular processes by focusing on immune regulation, cancer and metabolic disorders from the single molecule to the system level and will also encourage translational research.
